APPLICATION
Surface Preparation:
Contacted surfaces must be clean, free from oil, grease or other contamination. Failing to do so may inhibit the bonding process. Remove any cracked or weakened concrete before repairing to provide a solid foundation. Remove laitance by scabbling or water blasting and provide a mechanical key. Pre-dampen the surface with clean water before applying the water plug.
Mixing:
Water plug is suitable for mixing by drill, paddle or by hand when mixing a small quantity. Use 1 part water to 3 parts of waterplug to achieve a smooth, stiff mortar consistency. Excess water will reduce the final strength and delay the setting time.
Always add the powder to the water while mixing to avoid lumps. Only mix material that can be used within the setting time. Do not attempt to rework or retemper set product.
Placement:
Apply the mixed Water plug to the substrate using a trowel or gloved hand.
When sealing running water leaks, the water plug should be held in place until it reaches initial set. The application of a curing membrane will reduce premature drying in repairs subject to direct sun or strong winds.
Clean Up:
Clean all equipment with water immediately after use.
Storage:
Waterplug is a cement based product which must stored in a dry area off the ground.
